84 4k oil pressure light

I went out and bought both - I did find that according to the ETKA
diagram, the existing high and low pressure switches had been installed
in opposite locations - the wires were correct though. I've reversed
them so that the high pressure is in the lower position and the low
pressure in the higher position.
Don't know if that would make a difference - but the car is no longer
experiencing the oil pressure warning light issue. I assume they are
both sensing an oil passage of some sort?
One new issue is that the water temp gauge is flaky - shows just a
little temperature, climbs to just above cold, then drops to nothing
again - When it does this - the car will stumble a little on 1st gear
start up. I suspect the water temp sender on the cooling hose flange
attached to the block.
However, there's also a temp sensor on the same flange below that and
one on the radiator. I think the one on the radiator is for the fan -
not sure what the one on the flange is for?
Thanks,
Vittorio -

Seems like overkill. Yes, sometimes they go bad. But rarely, really.
The one in question is on a 24 year old car, not exactly a "rapid"
failure.
The ones are my coupe are vintage 1982 and work fine. The ones on my
90Q are vintage 1989 and work fine. The system does tell me when I'm
two quarts low on hard corners, which is nice, I guess.
