turbo water pump

I was at the junk yard yesterday and noticed a early-mid '90s, VW Passat with a VR6 engine that had an afterrun? water pump made by Bosch and much like the one in the 5KTQ. I bet it can be substituted as the nipples appear to be the same size.

I did a search on AutohausAZ.com for both vehicles and both pumps look very similar, except for the price of course :)
