BTW, one word I got was that the "new" 105K mile interval was forced
upon them by California, who wouldn't certify any car that needed
emissions maintenance at less than 100K miles. So they performed a
documentation upgrade and magically the belts were good for 105K!
Amazing. Of course, documentation is not reality.....
They really just need a mileage figure, you can't ask people "how much
highway driving" they do and try to guess. Since failure is immediate,
without warning, and catstrophic, they need to be ahead of it.
