'98 A6 Wagon with only a 2 spd tranny...what next

Eric, if the car is the "new" body style with the 30V, there are a
couple more things to consider than just the trans. However, in the
newer Audi's such as this one, switching to a stick is a paretty major
undertaking, including fabricating the trans tunnel. Also, the 30V's
are known for oil leaks from a few places, I'd tackle these when
purchaling one a s well. The automatics aren't that hard to find,
however, as you pointed out. Plenty of parts cars out there.

BTW, I still daily drive a 4kq, and love them more than just about any
other car I've driven.
