Guys, all jokes aside - the first few were funny - but it would have been
nice if of the 15 replies that I got, more than one was actually useful.

tyson - you can try to improve the range, the awful remote distance is well
documented. there are a few writeups on audiworld and audizine that address
this, and there was a TSB from audi on increasing the antenna range.
my 98's alarm brain is under the rear seat [i think] so i ran an extended
antenna wire up along the c pillar and along the top edge of the rear glass.
thinking that higher would be better. well it's not, much. i've read of guys
having good luck running the wire along the insude of the rear bumper. some
folks were able to increase range to a few hundred feet.

Guys, I was just talking about the remotes.. My A4 remotes (on both cars)
are the WORST remotes that I have ever seen! I have to be practically within
kicking distance of my car before the stupid thing works! This is the case
on my 98 and was the case on my 05. What is the deal with this? Is there any
way to increase the range of these things to about 100ft or so?
