86 coupe Digidash

My car is Tornado Red with Quartz Grey Kensington Velour.  I bought the car on a whim last year after seeing it on Craigs List.  I saved it from certain death last year and I just couldn't pass up buying it.  Definitely not a interior color of choice. The VIN decodes as a 86 coupe and the build date in the door is 3/86.

You would have thought a digi-dash car would have a leather interior and be a little more special

I've been lurking on this list since buying the car last summer.  Car was in rough shape but the body was pretty good.  Rear window was temporary plastic, broken window regulators, shocks were toast, front brake rotors were gone, motor was tapping like crazy and the radio had been ripped out.  A few salvage parts, Boge Shocks, rotors, pads, new lifters, timing belt and TLC I've been using it as a daily driver since last fall and through the winter.

I also have a 87 4kcsq that I'm working on building as a track beater...and a '01 A6 2.7T 6 speed, but those are another story.

Love to hear what you all think about the color combination with the digi-dash.

Your CGT should have red leather interior, and be white with white painted
rims (Commemerative Edition)...there's a rumor that some CE's came in Zermat
Silver...but I've never seen any proof of that. Other than the 86 CEs, I
don't believe any 86s came with digi-dashes. ALL 1987's did, including the
Coupe GT "Special Build" or Coupe GT 2.3 which is mistakenly called the
1987.5 by some...I say mistakenly because it was built throughout the whole
model year run...and in fact there was ONE 1986 CGT 2.3.
