You probably wouldn't want to just stuff an H3 in there (although I think
the base may well be the same) because the
filament may not (or maybe it is) be in the correct position/orientation
regarding the base of the bulb. You may end up
with a lamp that doesn't really do much (if the filament position is wrong)
but you wouldn't notice because the H4 high
beam may make you think you are actully getting good lighting performance.
