Just HOW violently must I pry that needle off?

I am guessing it is held on with some sort of super glue to keep Los Federales muy bueno.  Odometer tampering and all.

For comparison, the water temp pointer fell off its gauge without any help from me.  Given they are 15 years old...what can one expect.
