tires

to add 2 datapoints; i've used kuhmo ecsta supra's [711?] and sumitomo
htrz-2 on my a4. both in a 235 45 17 size. both were very highly recommended
by folks on various audi forums with loads of experience [track, winter,
etc]. i run full on summer tires and a seperate wet of winter wheels/tires.
those are dunlop wintersport m3's [225 50 16] and they are absolutely
bananas. great in everything - dry, wet, snow, noise, etc. i love them.

the kuhmo's wore VERY poorly for me but were a good all round tire. dry,
wet, noise, etc were all quite good. however the outer edges were worn
through in less than 10k miles. my car is lowered, and has a bit of negative
camber, but toe is dead parallel and shouldn't have killed the tires as fast
as they did.

the sumi's are inferior in terms of dry grip. they are decent in the rain,
they just feel 'squirmy' in the dry. they are wearing very well / evenly -
in 5k miles no perceptable wear. and i drive really hard. they were,
however, CHEAP. like 90$ a tire.
