TIRES

Year after year, according to a tire biz friend of mine, Toyo wins hand
down for trueness.
That being said, I run Michelin Pilot A/S, Pirelli PZero Nero M&S and
Conti XtremeContacts (mine stayed round), as well as the Bridgestone
Potenza 050A Pole Position and Toyo T1S's on various wheelsets and
vehicles. Hard to beat the Michelins; hard to beat the Conti's for the
buck. Hard to beat the Pirelli's for all around, but I'm in Houston
now, so that means no snow, but will they grip in subfreezing wet
weather?...yes, as do the Michelins and Conti's, but definitely not the
050A's. Will shortly try either the Goodyear's or the Bridgestone 960AS.
Had Sumitomo HTR-Z's; two sets were ridiculously square, in Louisiana,
and were checked out by a TR installer and returned. The Kumho 711's
were cheap tires, a bit hard and all around average; enough eh? to keep
me off Kumho's so far, although I was also considering one (ASX?) that
was discontinued in the size I was looking for.
I don't think the T1R's are as well rated as the T1s's were, but their
all season tires might get a look, too. I've made a point of getting
Toyo's put on my parents' cars and there hasn't been a problem with
three sets over the years.
