I 2nd the 15W40 diesel oil. I use Rotella in everything now, though I
do change to their 5W40 synthetic for winter in the daily drivers. I
can recall my Dad going out of the way to use 15W40 back in the mid
70's in our Mercedes 280. That car went well over 200k. My 91 Avant
with 235k is one of the daily drivers mentioned above and I have
noticed nothing alarming; engine noise, oil pressure, usage are all
very normal. The other is the 1990 V8q which takes 8-9 quarts. All
is well.
