i agree.  according to audi the rs6 is "required" to use 5w oil.  nothing
else.  i not going to 2nd guess that...

Yup.  I run Mobil-1 0W40 in my '01 S4 biturbo, and have done so since about
5K miles new, now the car has close to 80K miles with absolutely no sign of
sludge or any other malady.  The new Audi engines do require thinner oils so
they provide adequate lubrication while cold, and I trust Audi's specs when
it comes to various engine fluids.  The factory engineers know what they're
doing.
