Hi,
My A6 has been running pretty well til now ~
My car had the "check engine" light on when I got to Phoenix Sunday
for a tennis tournament. I left it at Audi and Tues. they said the
left cat was totally plugged. We cannot afford to replace that at
this time. And, we cannot afford one of the alternative shops
either.
My hubby suggested taking the "inards" out, but the Audi parts guy
said it was difficult to do.
What do you all think?
What is the easier / or / least expensive resolution for this problem?
Are there any performance folks who have replaced the cat with just pipe?
I understand there is a "plug" I can recess the oxygen sensor back so
that the 'check engine' light will not stay all on all of the time.
We do not have emissions checks up here .... I do not normally
approve of bypassing the cat or not having one, but our situation
this year leaves us no choice .... and we are moving next month so it
is a bit tight now.
ThanX
Fay
