Battery life

Not to be a wise-ass, but is this thread necessary?  This ranks with
how far you can go with the gas needle pointing on empty and the
warning light glaring...  Besides, battery life is dependent on
climate, i.e. how many cold starts in cold weather, alternator
condition, etc.
