Sure, if you want your kid to be on the losing side of a collision  
with anything bigger than a squirrel. Same reason you don't put them  
in ANY Honda made before about 2000-2002, an SUV, or anything made by  
GM, ever, except a Saab.

I think I'm with the others in regards to an A4.  Safe, just the right  
amount of fun, and practical (rear fold-down seats.)  An C4 A6 would  
also do the job handily, and is probably much more reliable- not  
nearly as many engine, suspension, and electrical issues.  Not sure  
how the A6 would stack up to the A4 safety-wise.
