I'll chime in with support for the infrared temp gauges - totally sweet to
have.  I have 'varied interests' and this thing always comes in handy -
checking wheel bearings, snowmobile engine temps, auto coolants
temps......etc....etc.....etc.   Paid $50 for mine, on sale

i do the same - keep a nice little 20$ pyrex thermometer in my toolbox for
random temp checking. harbor freight sells a laser one for around 50$. cool
toy..
