Fay - the beauty of a turbocharged engine is that it comes from the factory
set up conservatively, but you can then start to tweak the powerplant to get
more power, by running additional boost from the turbo.

The introduction to this is here:

This is Scott's outline on boosting 20v engines, but can be applied to
similar situations.

If you decide to chip or otherwise modify your turbocharged Audi, the lists
will be very helpful, this one and the S-car list. Here are links to two
reputable manufacturers of high performance chips, there are also other
options out there, but I've used these two products and been very, very
happy with the results.

However, heading down the modification road means that finding a car with a
well documented history is essential. You must have everything performing
correctly prior to adding mods.

The scary thing is, if you end up going down this road, it seems to be one
way, and there's no coming back. . . .Trust me. It will be hard to drive
anything else. Chipped turbo cars also rule at altitude, something else to
consider, given your location.

On another note, there are always a ton of Audis for sale on the Colorado
Craig's list boards. Check the Denver + Boulder listings. I don't see a CO
car being too far to drive home if you find the right one. Maybe a mid 90's
S car???! But not mine! Sorry! ;-)

Good luck.
