Ya ... well, I spent FORTY-TWO  YEARS of my life in MINNESOTA
where the plates went WITH the car ... not the person.

And many states do not require a notarized signature, so at 7:30 on a
Saturday nite -- the guy had just driven with his wife and kids 1.5 hours one way --
I am calling notaries and finally had to call one of my hubby's clients.

I sort of felt like an idiot for forgetting the notary rule.

So taking the plates off got forgotten as it was dark when they pulled away.
