i've had great results with seafoam, my car really runs better after a
cycle. i've been running a can through before every oil change.

i've read about good results with extreme engine flushes - such as draining
oil, filling engine / crankcase w/ diesel fuel [like 5 gallons, filling the
whole engine to the oil fill cap]. let it sit overnight, then drain, fill w/
cheap oil/filter, idle for 30 mins or so, then change oil / filter with good
stuff.

1 guy on audizine had an a4 he bought cheap because the oil light had come
on + the car was diagnosed with a sludge problem. he did this and the light
went off, ticking went away, etc. seemed to 'solve' [help] his sludge issue.
