Cant retract rear caliper pistons on '95 A6

Absolutely.  Its clear as day in teh shop manual.

You must press while turning the piston to essentially screw it back  
into the caliper.

You can buy "piston retraction tools" in most auto parts places, but  
my favourite is a kit from harbor freight that will fit almost any  
car, about $30.
