Cant retract rear caliper pistons on '95 A6 - why screw?

Not wishing to add insult to injury but I suspect that as both are now leaking but were fine before you started then the leaks are linked to your previous attempts at pushing the pistons back in that you applied to much force and broke something inside the calliper.
Seizing up rather than leaking is the normal failure mode.
