Damper pulley diameter

Hi everyone,
I had a little surprise last night as I was bolting back the last bits of
the engine : the alternator belt was too short, by at least 2 inches. Well,
the engine was swapped, but the alternator+bracket and the belt were from my
previous engine. So, before I began dismantling everything again to see why
would an alternator belt shortens, a very clever neighbor told me to measure
the old damper pulley and compare. Indeed, the forward portion of the old
engine (WX 000 454) pulley is of a smaller diameter than the other groove.
While on this engine (WX 000 011) both forward grooves are of the same
diameter.
So, is the big pulley (alternator will spin faster ! . not that this has any
importance, but I can type the word "faster" in this email.) from another
engine or was it a production change during 82-83 ? ETKA shows only one
pulley for all 5 cylinder, but this may not be a good indicator of the
original production variations.
Anyone knows the answer ?
That being said, tonight is the start-up night, after 5 long months of
inactivity. Fingers crossed that everything is OK.
