Wiring in trailer harness 1995 A6Q

I installed one of the Da'Lan hitches on my '95 A6QA (a *perfect fit, BTW, this is the hitch to get). It was quite easy. You need to drill two holes into the frame support pieces, but they give a template and good instructions. The mechanical mounting took under an hour.
Electrically, I got a connector kit that had electrical isolation on it (often sold as "European" style). It cost about $30 instead of about $10, but it lets the autocheck work correctly. Inside the rear light housings are all the spade lug connections you need for tail and brake lights. I can't remember where I grabbed 12V from, but there was one nearby in the back wagon area.

Looks like there is a little btdt out there, but not enough for me to feel
comfortable. Anyone got a list of the converters that will work for this
car? Concerned about the autocheck freaking out and running too much
current draw through the wiring for the lamps.
Thanks!
