temperature gauge question and a/c

Hi all,
Last week I posted a question about my fan clutch going. Fan clutch
was replaced, and the car runs very good, for it appears to have
gotten rid of the misfire too. It used feel like the engine was
oscillating at idle, and I thought it was typical of a V6. Now, no
more oscillating, and the car is quieter at idle, and it appears that
it has more performance as well. Now, here is my question. I have a
very short commute, about 3-4 miles. When its midday or later in the
afternoon when I am driving home from work, with the a/c set at 70,
the temperature gauge will start creeping toward normal and hot. In
addition, the a/c will blow warm, normal? Also, is the main fan
supposed to run after the car has shut off? I know its a short
commute, so it may not kick on. However, I am making a three hour
drive at highway speeds next week, so maybe it will kick on then when
the car is parked?
I may sound naive, but its been awhile since I have had a VAG product,
the last two were a Landrover and a Landcruiser.
Thanks
