It's can be a Bonanza sometimes, sure, the insurance company will pay you
less than you think it's worth, but then it'll offer to sell you back
your car so you can keep it for next to nothing, for all the reasons
outlined by Chris. Neighbors atoyoT was tagged in the rear, they gave
him $2700 for the car (totalled), then sold it back to him for $125. We
tied the rear to a post, straightened it out, some junkyard parts and
he's back in business with an extra $2400 in pocket for his troubles.
Real bonus is that you don't have to return tags, reinsure and pay all
the taxes etc. if you have to go out and get a replacement. Not that you
guys in NH have any experience with taxes and cars.
