Brake Fluid Testing strips

Test strips work OK. A refractometer test is superior. That said, you're
only checking the fluid at one place in the system. I.E. at the reservoir.
That's a place where moisture is absorbed, but fluid often fails at the
calipers due to dust seals breaking down, dirt, moisture, and heat cycling.

For a street car, replacing every 2 years makes good sense. Most of my
clients replace it yearly. The added benefit is that by bleeding the
system, you help avoid frozen caliper bleeder screws.
