Nostalgia

Ah, it's great to see so many old, familiar names in this thread. The q-list
and subsequently the S-car list has been nightly reading for more years than
I care to recall. Lots of help from all, Scott's impassioned quest to slay
the Torsen spider, Phil Payne pouring out his knowledge for all and sundry,
Unka Bart's witticisms that more often than not reduced me to gales of
laughter, Huw with his can of yellow spray paint, the list goes on and on.
And I hope it will, it remains a great resource yet, though the numbers of
the UrQs and Type 44s are dwindling and even the mighty UrS is now getting
long in the tooth. The list turned out to be an odd, compelling amalgam of
wit, wisdom, and friendship, created by thousands of individual inputs that
assembled something unique without a blueprint. The thought of recombining
the splinter lists has some merit, as I suspect volume is dwindling in all.
I find nothing compelling in the newer Audis (well, the R8 has a few merits,
more once they get the diesel in it), so I plan to stick with my UrS6 and
the Q-list for a while yet. Well, I'll probably stick with the list even
without the S6 - it's kind of like an old friend.

Huw, thanks for the trip down memory lane!
