Scott Mockry's wonderful Audi website includes a description/parts information regarding the vacuum survo-motor that runs the recirculation door assembly. If you go to http://www.sjmautotechnik.com/trouble_shooting/ac.html and scroll down to the drawing of the recirculation doors, the nearby text has a part number for the Audi-supplied repair for a broken servo motor mounting, as well as a description of how to install the replacement for the mounting. You can make your recirculation door work again.

With servo A, in my case the servo breaks off from arch support, not seen in
Bentleys diagram. The solution is keeping flap in fresh air open setting, at
least windows will not fog BUT the airconditioning won't be so cold in
summer since fresh hot air is pulled in.
