Removing from strut of 88 5KTQ with out speical tools

Hi All
This is an update to a post I sent some time ago. I asked about removing the 
front struts without the special tools. I was able to remove 2 at the remove 
it your self yard using a pipe wrench to remove the nut on top of the stut. I 
removed them along with the top plate with the 3 nuts. When I got home I marked 
the 3 nut on top by painting the top plate. I then removed the nuts on top of 
the strut. Then the 3 nuts on the top and pulled out the strut. I put in the 
strut I got at the pull it your self yard  with the top plate on them. I then 
attached the nuts where the nuts where on mine. I bought the 2 struts at the 
pull it your self yard for $6 each not the $50 each the auto parts store wanted.
