DEC Catalytic Converters

I'm curious as to what would cause a need for new cats on an 8-year-old car....? I'm starting to look at things like this as my car ages.
I am looking at a TB change in about 15k miles and stuff like having to replace the cats in a couple of years makes me nervous!

You asked: "Hi All, My 2000 A6 2.8 quattro Avant is in need of new catalytic
converters. I'm looking for feedback from anyone who has used, or has
experience with, Diversified Enviromental Cat (D.E.C.) converters on their
Audi, or C5 bodied A6 in particular. I understand they are near O.E.M.
quality, but before I go aftermarket I'd like some BTDT info... Thanks
for any help you can offer!" Brian

I sell 'em, and I use 'em on my own cars. Only one that's held up on my
90 20v, and they've been in my A6 for about 5 years.
They even supply some CA legal OBD2 converters. John
