Withholding information?  Geesh.  Grant still get's +1.   =)

I'd make certain the controller is dryed out, check wiring.  A good
no-residure circuit board cleaner is the trick (assuming you can get into
the controller housing).  Caig's cleaner is great for wiring.  If it looks
reasonable, plug and unplug the suspect harness 5 or 6 times after
cleaning.  Next step would be to test for voltage (and amperage) to the
controller after you have a failure.
