I guess my main draw to the car magazines at this point would have to be the
long-term editors and their columns. John Phillips is another that I'd
forgotten about, because I haven't gotten C&D in a long time. The editors'
bring a relatable style and face to the magazine. I can get stats anywhere.
I really enjoyed their writing style in their columns and their road tests
too. Denise McCluggage at Autoweek is a treat. And so is Dutch Mandel,
following very well in his father's footsteps. There have been so many and
now seem to be so few. Maybe it's just because the newer ones are starting
to all be younger that me.
