Based on circumstances . . .

I'm with Mike on this one.

Nine months or so after buying my VW QSW, a weird vibration and sound, much like a vacuum cleaner emanated from about the front, passenger-side, driveshaft and/or tranny.

I did not know that much about cars at that time, so I took it to a "vw specialty shop" to have it diagnosed.

I explained the situation to the monkey lad in charge and his response was something to the effect:

Oh yeah, sounds like a tranny problem. I don't have the time to look at it now. Park it over there and give me the keys so we can take a look sometime this week. Then we'll call you to let you know what's up.

I said to him: I tell you what, if the thing blows up "sometime this week," then I'll bring back in so you can look at it.

The fact that he looked rather creepy did not help me trusting him.

Anyway, I took it to a friend's mechanic and as soon as he drove the car told me it was the passenger's side wheel bearing on its way out. I changed it myself, and the noise and vibration went away.

My uncle once told me: "Son, you need to have three good friends in life-, a mechanic, a doctor and a lawyer."

BTW Mike, have you encountered any more rice-boys blocking interstate highways and lack of Fl finests when you need them most?

-Regards

Louis

Circumstances are "Business stinks, we need to make our three overdue
mortgage/rent/boat payment and here's someone who knows nothing about
cars, has an expensive car, and is stuck. Ka-ching!!!!"

Call your tow truck and get it out of there.

 Now.
