Another possibility- as seen with Glen's old 4000 turbo-conversion  
track car, a wrench can be used to 'bump' the metering plate if it has  
become stuck, I seem to recall.  Wasn't that the only way they could  
get it to start at LRP one year when it was burning fuel like crazy?
