Alternator "brushes" Q

If you get a reg from AutoZone/FLAPS, I would recommend mail-ordering a
Bosch to have on hand (in the car with a Philips) for when the AutoZone
no-name part dies in a year or so. Based on recent experience with my GTI -
reg croaked out of town on a Saturday and AutoZone was what I could find
with the part on the shelf. One of the brush springs then broke on the
AutoZone part before the brushes had much of a chance to wear.
