agreed. sounds like a  lot of extra work for no good reason.

people do use the v6 manual trans on the 1.8t motor, so there is some
interconnectability, but i'm not sure what's involved [flywheel, clutch,
cv's, shafts, etc] to make it work.

the mounts would probably be different but easy enough to change as i
imagine the cars both use the same front subframe[?].

i think the biggest issue would be getting the ecu right, it would mean
using the v6's ecu which would be a lot of rewiring. again, imagining...

i'd say to do yourself a favor and part out your v6 and get yourself a good
used 1.8t. path of least resistance / waaaaaay fewer headaches. if you do
the whole crazy swap thing you might as well get a crashed s4 and throw that
dirvetrain in the a4. one of the listers has done it..
