7A Lowering engine compression.

I assume the pistons are different. As well as the type of head gasket. There are compression dropping multi-layer-steel head gaskets available from a few suppliers, one of them being 034 motorsport.

What are the options for lowering the compression on a 7A.  I would like
install a turbo but am uncomfortable with the 10.3:1 compression.  What is
the difference between the 3B and the 7A?  



Is there anyone with experience installing copper shims on the head gasket,
is this problematic for long term reliability.  Any comment's welcome.
