fool crunch

Remember the arguments that arose in europe regarding the height at which
the side impact test was run. The manufactures threw their toys out of the
pram when it was suggested that the impacting object height was raised above
the sill level to a third of the way up the door to erm, well, reflect the
real world a bit ......
I think that Huw also forgot that when selecting your small tree, it is also
beneficial to grab a load of handbrake and throw the steering over "à la
Gwyndaff Evans or Dafydd Llewellyn" and go in arse first.
Maybe it's just a genetically ingrained thing......... but it works well
with FIA seats at least....
Not so good for the rear passengers, but then lets face it, how often do we
have a full car?
Just my $0.02 worth of fuel on the fire.

And I'll second that. Having cut into plenty of cars, both old and
new, I'll take an old German car (even my 1950lb jetta) over a modern
japanese car. And, I'll certainly take the V8 over just about anything
comparabvle size or smaller. I won't take it against a Peterbuilt, but
then again, I won't willing take one on in anything.
Also remember, those modern cars have (seemingly) endless airbags to
help out with those #'s. Take those away, and retest ;-)
