Thanks Steve and the others who played the game.

The headbolts on my 95 A6q were an external torx. An e-14 socket did the
trick.

I was explaining my situation to the counter guy at an O'Reilly parts store
when another customer -- a mobile mechanic -- spoke up, took me outside to his
car, took out a took kit and let me borrow the socket for the evening.

Now, all the headbolts are removed, the passenger side head is off the car,
and I'm wondering what the hell I need to remove to get the driver side head
off. Anybody know what it takes to remove the big ass waterpipe, as that
appears to be in the way. the EGR valve may need to go, as well. Anyone.
Bueller?

Hey Tom,

That is the same bolt head that have removed with a 12 point. Pics are
alittle blurry but it has 6 points that seem to fit perfectly in a 12 point. I
have not done an Audi head bolt bt others with a simular torque. I used a good
quality socket as the cheaper ones didn't fit well. My craftsman sockets
worked well.

Hope that helps...Steve
