stuff that makes gas last longer

We have had a few serious answers to a question that I took as a joke. Of  
course, gas last longer at night when the car is parked in the garage or when it 
 is broken down. Walking to work, hitchhiking, skateboarding are all ways to 
save  fuel and not wear out the car.
