10v MC2 + E85 (Bioethanol) = true or false?

Have any of you ever tried using a blend of regular gas and E85 (Bioethanol) with the MC2-engine? (Dual-knock 10v turbocharged R5)

My 1990 Audi 100 TQ Sport has this engine, 165 hp (121kW), and it's completely original.
No modifications to raise boost pressure or things like that.

I have tried to fill the car up with a blend of 50% gas and 50% E85, and the car gets
completely undriveable. I've also tried a blend of 70% gas and 30% E85.
It's clear that the injection system - Bosch KA-Jetronic - which is lambdaregulated, 
cannot compensate for the fuel needed when using E85.

A friend of mine had the MC-engine, and he tried a blend of 50% gas and 50% E85, and
it worked wonders. The car felt quicker, and there were no fuel supply problems.

So, is the MC2 engine management so different from the MC, that E85 can't be used whatsoever?
