binding hydraulic clutch--only after long, long drive

Just to be sure, how old id the clutch itself ? Is it very hard to depress ?
A new clutch on this car, same one as on my urQ's, is as easy to depress as
any new car. So if you need much pressure, I'd guess that the pressure plate
is tired, so is the clutch disc, and so is the sleeve on which they slide.
Something is binding internally, maybe from heat. My guess is it is time to
drop that transmission and replace the clutch kit.
Last year, during summer, Geraint's 1989 Porsche had a similar event when I
was babysitting it : I was not able to leave 5th gear on deceleration, must
stop the car, shut the engine and then everything was back to normal.
Sometimes for days, no problem. Then gears were sticking at random. When
fall came, clutch began to slip. Clutch R&R is scheduled very soon.

-----Message d'origine-----
I had many Audi 5ktq vehicles and never ran into this problem before.
When I drive my 88 5ktq Avant over 8-10 hours, any weather, the clutch pedal
stops coming all the way back up at some point. If I let it sit for an hour
or two, it finally comes back up on its own. Last year I replaced the
master clutch cylinder, didn't help, then I replaced the slave. It is still
happening. The clutch acts like normal at all other times. Could this be
a heat problem? or does anyone else have an idea why this should be
happening, even with new cylinders? Any help would be appreciated.
