(LAC) Oil overfill tolerance on a 2.8 liter 24 V in a Passat GLX

I wouldn't worry about 1/2 qt. over the fill mark, but I would remove it.

I would run 35 PSI (F/R) on that car...  Like most manufacturers, VW ignores
the tire tech info and go for too soft of a PSI to improve ride and
encourage even more understeer (at the expense of tire life and handling).
The Firestone/Explorer fiasco?  Ford spec'd a PSI for that setup that wasn't
even ON the aftermarket load chart from Firestone for that tire.
