It was my bud driving (he has his bike race license etc)... local audi
dealer rents Mosport each year so there we were basically split the time in
the car. I left the ESP on (rainy day which is perferct track condition for
quattro..less tire wear) while he would turn it off...after a couple of laps
neither of us would ride with the other anymore as things started getting a
little bit too fun. I already solicited an invite for this year. Guys at
Owasco are a lot of fun... it was the owner of Owasco driving the S4 he was
chasin. I hope to get to the track a bit this year ... regardless of how
fast your car is the track is a great place to drive.

I watched an instructor (with a decade plus of experience in SCCA,
rallying and track) in a '83 4000 with R-rated rubber lap cars at
NHIS, including an RS4 (driven by a green student.) I believe
everything was stock, save maybe some better shocks/springs.
Then the guy driving the RS4 handed the keys to his instructor- and
the instructor nearly set the track on fire. I think the only car
that came close was probably the supercharged Miata.
That V8 sounded amazing. Not as amazing as a AMG Merc (with the 6.3l
engine) that drove by the bus stop a few days ago, though. When the
guy gave it some boot, the ground shook...
