And if you go VAG V8 - it'll bolt right up to the tranny.

Oh, and to Huw's point, the V8 is 50lbs lighter than the 20vt...

...plus no lag :)

Identical real estate, in fact.  And I agree, an aluminum block V8, 
whether VAG or GM in origin, eventually blessed with forced induction.
