A4...No power to steering column componets or fan

I can only assume that is what happened because I had taken it apart and
changed for a new one. There isn't much room or play with the length of
wiring. Part of the ignition switch housing was melted where the red power
supply cable is, but I was connecting and disconnecting the battery as I was
trying to figure out why my car did not start and changed the starter twice.
The solution to my problem was to unplug the ignition switch and carefully
plug it back in. Everything in my car works now. I hope that helps you solve
your problem.
