Nope, idling when the engine is cold. Tolerances, mostly cylinder
wall-to-rings, which are designed to be 'right' at the proper coolant
temperature, and are much tighter when the engine is cold. The only
thing it'll really effect long-term is compression, slightly. Lower
temperature thermostats (or stuck-open thermostats) cause the same
problem.

Kind of one of those anal-retentive-car-owner things. Like people who
change their Mobil1 every 3000 miles, sit in the parking lot idling
for 5 minutes to "cool down" their water-cooled turbo, etc. AKA, most
of the s-car-list, all of Audiworld, etc. :) I personally long ago
stopped doing the 3k-change routine, stopped worrying about cool-downs
(just don't drive like my pants are on fire the last few minutes) etc.
 The 200q20v survived just fine.
