For most it probably doesn't matter. All they know... all they care about,
is that they have all wheel drive... on about the same level as knowing
where to put the gas in.

But the confusion is that Audi calls BOTH of it's AWD systems 'quattro',
regardless of the type used. So the TT has quattro,
as does the A4, even though they aren't the same system (former Haldex,
latter Torsen).

4Motion is Quattro. Longitudinal engine orientation gets Quattro.
Transverse engine gets Haldex.
The systems are different based on engine orientation. The name is based on
brand name.
