I had the same thought when I test drove an '01 GLX when when thinking about
replacing my A4 Avant.  Same 30V V6, same Tiptronic, nicely done wood trim,
HVAC that mimicked Audi's (if not outright the same), clean cluster, nice
seats, and just enough bigger to be comfortable rather than cramped. And
with no quattro/4motion (extra weight and friction), it seemed a bit quicker
off the line.

I came close to making an offer on it.
