If you are looking at vans, I'd give serious consideration
to (forgive me) a minivan. Here's why: since they depreciate
as much as an Audi, you can find one cheap. They comfortably
carry a lot of people, good for a real estate agent. And if
you get an American one (dodge, ford, or chevy), you should
be able to find parts and mechanics on every street corner.
In a year or two, when the economy settles down and (hopefully)
things get better, you can recycle the minivan to hubby or even
sell it without a huge loss.
A few years ago we rented one (a 2006/7 Dodge Caravan) for a
family trip from NH to SC, and it had a lot going for it. Not
Audi-level ride and handling, but much better than I expected.
